Don't Recommend Adding Niacin or Fibrates for Most Statin Patients

New labeling changes will put more focus on when and how to use NON-statins...niacin, fibrates, ezetimibe, etc.

Niacin ER (Niaspan, etc) and fenofibric acid (Trilipix, etc) are no longer approved to be used with statins...due to a lack of CV benefit and more risks with the combos.

Continue to emphasize using statins first for dyslipidemia.
